This kit replicates the precast concrete Southern Region example, often paired with the Concrete Hut (ref 518). A Fogman, when fog or snow reduced visibility, placed detonators on the rails ahead of signals or temporary speed restrictions imposed due to works etc. to provide additional warning to train drivers.
